Isla Limpia

Isla Limpia Description

Isla Limpia (Clean Island) is a special event where runners, volunteers and local children come together to pick up garbage along the streets and trails of Ometepe. We meet in Moyogalpa with trash bags and go as far as we can in a four-hour period. After finishing, everyone heads over to a local cafe for lunch and watermelon.

Mission

Isla Limpia is a yearly event produced with Natural Doctors International. Our vision for Isla Limpia is to encourage the islanders to take care of their environment. Truck usage is donated by the local municipalities to support the effort.
