“If you want to speak with God, run an ultra. If before speaking with God you want to be with the Devil...run FUEGO Y AGUA”

— 2015 Fuego Y Agua Finisher

race details

  • Fuego y Agua Nicaragua is a unique series of trail runs like no other. It is not going to be easy to make it to the finish line and by saying this, we do not mean to scare you, but rather we want you to be as prepared as you can possibly be. You will have the opportunity to run around, up and down 2 volcanoes on a small island in Nicaragua. Ometepe is located right in the middle of Lake Nicaragua, it has all it needs to have an epic run. The terrain includes dirt trail, sandy beach, paved road, and very technical single-track trail, a chaotic web of trees, disappearing trail, and mud. And the ascent and descent to Concepcion and Madera’s volcanoes. Over 6000mts of elevation gain and 3 distances to choose from. Challenge yourself in an epic run in one of the most exotic places in the world.

Out of the midst of the beautiful Lake Nicaragua spring two magnificent pyramids, clad in the softest and richest green, all flecked with shadow and sunshine, whose summits pierce the billowy clouds.

They look so isolated from the world and its turmoil - so tranquil, so dreamy, so steeped in slumber and eternal repose.

What a home one might make among their shady forests, their sunny slopes, their breezy dells after he had grown weary of the toil, anxiety, and unrest of the bustling, driving world.
