2013...and on to 2014
2013 was a defining year for Fuego y Agua Events, with many firsts! We hosted our fourth and largest Fuego y Agua Ultras on Isla de Ometepe, Nicaragua, and we launched the Survival Run in Nicaragua, an event that took everyone by surprise. We then followed it up with Hunter Gatherer Ultras and Survival Run in Texas, which was a wild adventure the participants will not soon forget. We also co-produced the amazing Ultra Caballo Blanco in the Copper Canyons of Mexico with Maria Walton and the town of Urique!
A New Year is always a time for change, for renewing intentions and pursuing visions. In 2014 we have a series of 3 races to present: Fuego y Agua Nicaragua on February 5th-8th, The Celts Wales on August 23rd and Hunter Gatherer USA on October 5th. All of the events have a run-only Ultra Trail Race and an application-only Survival Run option. When we asked our designer to create a set of logos that fit within the original inspiration of our Fuego y Agua Nicaragua logo, we were pleasantly surprised when she came up with the gorgeous set displayed here. Each logo represents the location and the feeling of the race, while staying with the original concept of Fuego y Agua.
The Celts in Bridgend, Wales is a completely new race for 2014, and we are very excited to launch in the UK! We teamed up with fellow ultra-runner Barrie Williams, a Bridgend resident, who will act as Regional Director for the event. As with our other events, The Celts will be based on the local and historic culture of its location. For the Survival Run, the course will be based mostly on the daily life and survival of the Ancient Celts. We are currently working with local historians in the area to research and develop a course that is very tough, unique and interesting.
Registration is currently open for all events, keep in mind all Survival Runs require application submission and approval before entry. More information on http://fuegoyagua.com/
Nicaragua is almost here!
Fuego y Agua Nicaragua is coming in just a few weeks and it looks like we will have the largest group of runners yet. The Survival Run is on the 5th of February and the 25k, 50k and 100k are on the 8th. We separated the two events to have full focus on each. The courses are completely new and tougher with a new start/finish location on the island. Registration is still open, but not for much longer!
A few brave souls are registered to run the Deadly "Devils" Double Challenge
where they will run the 70km+ Survival Run: Nicaragua on February 5 and then just 3 days later run the Fuego y Agua 100km!
We will see many of you on the island soon!
